At Believe Africa Volunteers, we offer a variety of impactful programs designed to meet the needs of the Maasai community in Loitokitok, Kenya. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Program

This program aims to combat the harmful practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the Maasai community by raising awareness, providing education, and offering support to survivors. Volunteers will engage in community outreach programs, organize workshops for women and youth, and collaborate with local leaders to promote the abandonment of FGM. Volunteers will also assist in providing counseling and support for individuals affected by FGM, working to protect the rights and health of women and girls.

Education Empowerment Program

Focus on improving education standards in local schools by providing support to teachers and students. Volunteers will assist in classrooms, mentor students, and organise after-school tutoring programs in subjects like math, science, and English. The program also encourages creative learning through arts and crafts workshops and reading initiatives. By improving literacy and academic performance, this program aims to empower the youth in the community and give them the tools to succeed in their future endeavors.

Women’s Empowerment Program

Empower women in Loitokitok by helping them access resources and knowledge to create sustainable livelihoods. This program focuses on providing training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership, while also promoting gender equality. Volunteers will mentor women in business development, offer capacity-building workshops, and support women in launching income-generating projects like beadwork, farming, and small enterprises. This program aims to enhance women’s independence and increase their participation in community development.

Healthcare Outreach Program

Support healthcare initiatives in rural communities by assisting in local clinics, providing health education, and raising awareness about hygiene and disease prevention. Volunteers will work alongside healthcare providers to deliver services, including basic medical care and outreach programs focused on maternal health, sanitation, and nutrition. Volunteers will also help organize health camps, vaccination drives, and conduct workshops on hygiene and wellness to promote healthier living practices in the community.

Youth Skills Development Program

Help prepare the youth in Loitokitok for a successful future by offering skills training in various areas such as computer literacy, entrepreneurship, and vocational skills like carpentry, tailoring, and construction. Tourism and Eco-Hospitality Program

Support the development of sustainable tourism and eco-hospitality businesses in Loitokitok by training local community members in hospitality, customer service, and sustainable tourism practices.
